press

When I was at happier.com, part of my job was getting press coverage for our activities.  We secured hundreds of mentions, and you can find many of them here.

This page includes some stories highlighting my work.

Okay, if you’re a real Philadelphian, you’re probably enjoying a cynical snicker right now. “If I tell people in Philadelphia I work for Happier.com, they give me a quizzical look and slowly move away from me,” laughs Andrew Rosenthal, a 26-year-old Penn grad. But Rosenthal, who’s from Portland, Oregon, and therefore much less grouchy than the rest of us, wants us hard-edged East Coasters to believe in the pursuit of happiness — even if every fiber of our Eagles-singed, corruption-tainted DNA says it’s a sucker’s bet.  – January, 2010  [read full story]

We’re not a bunch of bouncing-off-the-walls happy people,” adds Andrew Rosenthal C’06, optimist. “We’re building a solution that’s relevant to real-world people.”…

“We knew that the primary consumer interest was something that was affordable, that didn’t require a master’s degree or 10 weeks of training, and could be done in the privacy of one’s own home,” says Rosenthal, who serves as president of the Penn Alumni Club of Philadelphia in his spare time. “That’s where the Web solution came from. A recent University of Pennsylvania graduate, Rosenthal, 26, has taken happiness to a new plateau through the Web site www.happier.com, which he co-founded with Hensch a year ago to help get people out of the doldrums by utilizing the field of positive psychology….

Since the official launch, Rosenthal said that the site has received 400,000 hits and has more than 46,000 members

Rosenthal also indicated that users tend to be a little older than those who traditionally surf the Web, noting that “the feedback we have received from older users is that the site is simple and easy to use. We listen to that feedback, and when we add new features, we always ask ourselves how this feature will play out among those who are not really into computers or technology.” 12/31/2009 [read full article]
